CHIC Black Velvet
BORN PRETTY STORE Hexagon Glitters
Hiiii everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been around much these past few days. Typhoon Ruby passed through my province and the power went out (everything's back to normal now). Also, I got my laptop back and the technician was able to save my files/pictures too. Woohoo~ So today I am able to show you my second entry for Californails' December Nail Art Challenge. The theme is "sparkles" (only thing I can think of is glitter).
Luckily, Born Pretty Store recently sent me these awesome hexagonal nail glitters! Coincidence? More like fate. lol. I received 12 small pots containing 12 different colors. Like what I found in their round glitters set, five colors are opaque (gold, violet, black, green and dark silver) and seven colors are translucent (white, purple, apple green, blue, red, orange and yellow).
For this nail art look, I first applied two coats of Black Velvet as base. While that's still wet, I placed violet and dark silver hexagonal glitters alternately on top (like diagonal stripes). I had a little trouble choosing the violet glitters because some of them weren't shaped right but from afar, I can tell no difference at all so I'm pretty happy.
I tried all sorts of angles and contorted my hand like crazy but I still couldn't take a decent photo. If you look closely at my thumb nail, that's what the glitters actually look like in real life. Hmmmm. What do you think? I was going for the vampy and subtle look with these but I'm not sure glitters and subtle work together. lol. Anyway, thank you again Born Pretty Store for sending me this glitter set and thank you all for dropping by and supporting my small blog! Good bye for now and I'll see you again tomorrow!
Aside from making it through Typhoon Ruby and getting back my laptop, I also won one of A Very Sweet Blog's awesome giveaways! Woohoo! I feel very blessed this week. Thank you Kim for the awesome prize and congratulations in being named Aveeno Ambassador of the year! Do check out this awesome lady's awesome blog! I guarantee you'll have fun reading her awesome posts. And yup, awesome awesome awesome! lol.
